PREPS Asia Summit 2015 Summit
The PREPS Asia Summit brings together the publishing community and stakeholders in the paper, pulp and forestry sectors around the subject of responsible paper sourcing. The event will be an opportunity to connect with fellow publishers, printers, paper mills and other stakeholders to discuss common challenges and share solutions. Attendees will also develop an understanding of the PREPS system and how it can support their work in this space.

An introduction to the PREPS initiative and a perspective from the demand side.
Beth is a Senior Production Manager at Chronicle Books, where she has worked for the past 15 years. In addition to individual project management, Beth heads up the Development Group and works on Chronicle's environmental initiatives with regards to manufacturing. Beth will be speaking from a publisher's perspective on the importance of the PREPS database for ensuring supply chain integrity and risk mitigation.
Nick works for Carnstone, the consultancy that runs PREPS. He manages the day-to-day running of the initiative and will be providing the background to introduce PREPS, its purpose and its global reach.

What are the challenges on the ground in forests and how are manufacturers addressing responsible paper and fibre sourcing?
Mr. Lee has worked in Leo Paper Group since 1998. Before joining Leo, he had worked as Quality Engineer of Swire Group and Quality Manager of Tomei Industrial Group. He holds a Higher Diploma in Applied Science, a Post-experience Diploma in Industrial and Operation Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and then a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing System Engineering from University of Warwick. Mr. Lee is now working as the General Manager of Integrated Management Department, who is responsible for the setup and upgrading of all Management systems in Leo Paper Group. and is also responsible for the Quality management across the supply chain.
Joanne Chen works for UPM, mainly responsible for the environmental marketing and communications in Paper Asia. She will present the sustainable forest management and responsible environmental performance.
With 7 year experience building capacities of environmental and energy management among the paper industries, Sun Mingming, graduated from University of Twente in the Netherlands, Senior Pulp&Paper Program Officer at WWF China, is dedicating to the market transformation of forest-based commodities, particularly specialized in paper and packaging in China. Before join WWF China, Mingming was project manager at private sector and provide capacity buildings on bio-energy projects among the pulp&paper industries. Mingming also has two years’ experience working as a fiber purchaser at one of the leading paper mills in Shandong Province.

Yingying conducts environment related research, management and consulting on water and climate for universities, enterprises as well as government agencies. She holds a bachelor degree in Science Geochemistry from Peking University and a master degree of Environmental Economics and Management from University of Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV.

Chaochao works in our Shanghai office where she helps business to protect the environment and better serve the communities they operate in. Growing up in China has given her first-hand experience of the sustainability challenges the country is facing today, such as air pollution, resource scarcity and urban and rural inequality. Prior to joining Carnstone, she studied for her undergraduate degree in Hong Kong. More recently, she completed an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation at the London School of Economics.
Neil was the architect of many of the multi-client projects that Carnstone has established, and is a strong believer in collaboration both within sectors and also with other key stakeholders. Neil leads much of our work on sustainability in global supply chains - from raw material sourcing, through to environmental and social performance at processing and manufacturing sites. Prior to joining Carnstone, he worked for an international shipping and trading company based in Europe and Asia.
